Shepherd Viktor Reroll: Early Tempo, Slow Roll, and Positioning

Comp GuideShepherd ViktorSet 17

A complete Shepherd Viktor guide covering playable conditions, the core board, items, positioning, augments, and tempo.

Shepherd Viktor is one of the standout launch-week 3-cost reroll lines. If your Psionic items are not physical, and especially if you see Drone Uplink, you can commit to the board plan.

What to remember

  • check_circleTwo non-physical Psionic items are enough to consider the line; Drone Uplink is the best signal.
  • check_circleRoll on level 7 for upgraded Viktor and Illaoi, then slow roll for three stars before adding levels.
  • check_circlePosition toward the weaker enemy side so Pyke can hook through faster, with Meepsie on the edge to cast earlier.

Playable Conditions

Play this when you have two Psionic items that are not physical. If one of them is Drone Uplink, you can follow this board plan and force the line.

Standard Comp

The level 8 board is Lissandra, Mordekaiser, Meepsie, Pyke, Illaoi, Rhaast, Viktor, and Nami. It activates 3 Shepherd, 2 Replicator, 2 Dark Star, 2 Voyager, 2 Vanguard, 2 Conduit, 2 Psionic, and 1 Redeemer.

On level 7, play Lissandra, Mordekaiser, Meepsie, Pyke, Illaoi, Viktor, and Nami. If Nami is missing, or you hit more Rhaasts, use Rhaast first. On level 9, add Morgana or Bard.

Emblem and Items

Only take Voyager Emblem if it appears naturally, and put it on a filler unit. Prioritize full items on Viktor and Illaoi, then add utility. Viktor wants Jeweled Gauntlet, Archangel, and Drone Uplink; Illaoi wants Gargoyle, Iceblast Armor, and Warmog; Nami wants Void Staff, Jeweled Gauntlet, and Shojin.

Item Breakdown

Viktor has a long cast, so skip startup and build pure damage with Jeweled Gauntlet and Archangel. Drone Uplink is the best third item, with Sympathetic Implant as the next option. If neither appears, use Rabadon or shred.

Illaoi should be full tank. Start with Gargoyle, then choose the best remaining defensive items. Anti-heal and resistance shred can go on Rhaast or on backline Nami.

Nami adds damage and utility. Void Staff is the priority, then add one mana item. Use Morellonomicon if the frontline does not have Sunfire; otherwise add damage.

Comp Breakdown

This is a top data-performing comp, and its average placement gets even better in lower tiers. It can play like a level 7 double three-star reroll line, or stabilize with two-star Viktor and go level 8 because Viktor already deals enough damage at two stars.

Positioning

Stand on the weaker enemy side to clear small frontline units first. This lets Pyke hook the backline more reliably. Put Meepsie on the outer edge so it takes damage earlier and casts more control.

Divine Choice

Varus is the priority. The rest are close enough that you can choose based on carousel and item needs, but avoid Thresh when possible.
