Kindred

Kindred is a 4-cost N.O.V.A. and Challenger champion that usually plays as a backline damage dealer. Its pattern rewards longer fights, so a stable frontline and clean targeting are more important than instant burst. Kindred appears in Swarm-Storm and NOVA YI lines, so keep copies when those boards are open.

Consider playing around Kindred when you can level cleanly and find key copies on the rolldown. For items, Guinsoo's Rageblade and Kraken's Fury are strong signals that Kindred can become a real carry. For team direction, it fits naturally when you are already moving toward Swarm-Storm and NOVA YI. If it stays one-star, the traits do not activate, or the items point elsewhere, treat it as a transition unit instead of forcing the line.

Guinsoo's Rageblade, Kraken's Fury and Striker's Flail are recommended. Guinsoo's Rageblade ramps attack speed in longer rounds, Kraken's Fury adds reliable physical scaling in long fights and Striker's Flail matches the unit's combat pattern. The point of the setup is to give it enough uptime to convert its damage pattern into round wins.

When the perfect setup is not available, use Red Buff, Nashor's Tooth, Deathblade and Infinity Edge as substitutes. For damage substitutes, match the damage type and cast tempo instead of forcing random stats. If Kindred is only a trait slot, one useful item is enough and the premium items should go to your real carry or main tank.

Early: play strongest board while keeping components that fit Kindred. Mid game: level toward the rolldown that can find a two-star copy. Late game: build around N.O.V.A. and Challenger and add either frontline, control, or secondary damage so the board is not one-dimensional.

Place Kindred in a back corner or one hex in from the corner against hooks and dives. Scout the enemy carry side and put frontline directly ahead of it. Its mana bar is short, so surviving lets it cast repeatedly.
