Vex

Vex is a 5-cost Doomer champion that usually plays as a backline damage dealer. Its pattern rewards longer fights, so a stable frontline and clean targeting are more important than instant burst. Vex appears in Turbo Doomer and Capped & Loaded lines, so keep copies when those boards are open.

Consider playing around Vex when your health and economy let you reach late levels and the board needs a high-cost capstone. For items, Guinsoo's Rageblade and Giant Slayer are strong signals that Vex can become a real carry. For team direction, it fits naturally when you are already moving toward Turbo Doomer and Capped & Loaded. If it stays one-star, the traits do not activate, or the items point elsewhere, treat it as a transition unit instead of forcing the line.

Guinsoo's Rageblade, Giant Slayer and Hextech Gunblade are recommended. Guinsoo's Rageblade ramps attack speed in longer rounds, Giant Slayer helps cut through high-health frontliners and Hextech Gunblade matches the unit's combat pattern. The point of the setup is to give it enough uptime to convert its damage pattern into round wins.

When the perfect setup is not available, use Red Buff, Kraken's Fury, Nashor's Tooth and Deathblade as substitutes. For damage substitutes, match the damage type and cast tempo instead of forcing random stats. If Vex is only a trait slot, one useful item is enough and the premium items should go to your real carry or main tank.

Early: preserve health and economy instead of waiting for an expensive unit. Mid game: keep items flexible while leveling. Late game: Vex is a capstone piece, so once upgraded, build the final board around Doomer and support its cast pattern.

Place Vex in a back corner or one hex in from the corner against hooks and dives. Scout the enemy carry side and put frontline directly ahead of it. It needs time to start casting, so avoid letting it get deleted immediately.
