Stack Anima through a controlled loss streak, then stabilize around Aurora.
Playable Conditions: Starting with 3 Anima Squad needs no explanation. In a standard game, play it by 3-2 at the latest if you have 3 Anima Squad while on a 4-loss streak, and your items are suitable / you’re high-rolling units. If you’re forcing it, use Briar to solo the PvE rounds and gamble on 2-4 giving you a 3-cost Anima Squad unit.
Core positioning
Frontline anchor / Primary carry / Physical damage / Magic damage / Backup carry
Standard Comp
Leona, Meepsie, Jinx, Illaoi, Diana, Aurora, and LeBlanc form 3 Anima, 3 Arbiter, 3 Shepherd, 2 Challenger, 2 Voyager, and 2 Vanguard.
At Level 7, field the standard comp
If you can level up, add Rhaast > Galio > Morgana. For Arbiter effects, the best choices are 10 damage instances, basic attacks granting Armor and Magic Resist, or shields. Other trigger conditions that grant Armor and Magic Resist, Ability Power, or shields are also playable.
If Arbiter Is Useless / You Hit More Viktors, Play It Like This.
Item Breakdown
Prioritize items for Aurora and Illaoi. You don’t have to complete their full three-item builds; adjust based on the Anima items you cash out. Bad Anima items, as well as Briar’s exclusive item, should be reforged. If you get the Radiant version, use the same pairing.
Main Carry Aurora: prioritize Nashor’s Tooth and Jeweled Gauntlet. For the third normal item, another Nashor’s Tooth or Guardbreaker is best; if you can’t make those, use any AP item. If you cash out a recommended Anima item, replace the third normal item with it.
Main Tank Illaoi: prioritize Spirit Visage or Warmog’s Armor paired with Gargoyle Stoneplate. Since all the damage is magic, Ionic Spark is the best third normal item. If you cash out a recommended Anima item, replace the third normal item with it.
Secondary Carry Diana: build her the same way as last set. In Set 17, Diana can also use Rapid Firecannon instead of Bloodthirster. If you cash out Unceasing Cyclone, replace Guinsoo’s Rageblade with it.
Comp Breakdown
Your Anima stacks mainly depend on how long your loss streak is, so it’s okay if the setup comes a bit late. Just full-loss-streak, and cash out whenever you reach a multiple of 100. A 200-stack cashout is acceptable. If it doesn’t give you a recommended Anima item, you can keep going. 300 stacks is strong, and as long as your rolldown isn’t awful, you can stabilize. If you can cash out at 400 stacks, you basically win the lobby unless there’s a monster high-roll opponent.
Positioning
Place Aurora in the third hex from the left or right so her ability can hit more enemies more easily. Put Diana and the summon next to Illaoi to prevent them from being focused immediately.

Divine Choice
Soraka’s healing combined with Tiny Titans has a chance to reach 800 stacks, so auto-pick it. Varus gives a Lesser Champion Duplicator, and Kayle’s Radiant item also pairs insanely well with Anima items, so prioritize those three. Avoid Evelynn, Aurelion Sol, and Ekko: Evelynn costs player Health, Aurelion Sol’s mission is hard to complete, and Ekko can easily lead to item overflow.
