A Mecha flex guide built around The Mighty Mech and Aurelion Sol, covering conditions, boards, items, positioning, augments, and tempo.
Mecha flex is one of the cleanest 4-cost boards for stabilizing after a loss streak. The board is cheap, stabilizes on two upgraded 4-costs, and can either chase 3-star 4-costs or go level 9.
What to remember
- check_circleConsider the line from AP/tank item starts or loss-streak openers; Expedition and Yasuo divine are the best hard-commit signals.
- check_circlePrioritize Aurelion Sol and The Mighty Mech items so Stage 4 can stabilize cleanly.
- check_circleAt level 8, transform all three Mecha units, solo-frontline The Mighty Mech, and keep Aurelion Sol on the left side.
Core positioning
Frontline anchor / Primary carry / Physical damage / Magic damage / Backup carry
Playable Conditions
Consider this line from AP or tank-item openers, or when you are already loss-streaking. Expedition or Yasuo divine lets you hard commit because both fit the comp and raise its cap.
Standard Setup
The normal level 8 board uses Urgot, Viktor, The Mighty Mech, Tahm Kench, Master Yi, and Aurelion Sol for the Mecha, Brawler, Marauder, and Psionic package. In game, remember to transform the Mecha units before fighting.
With extra AP items, play Karma as the secondary carry. If the 4-costs are itemless or money is low, use Akali, Maokai, Urgot, The Mighty Mech, Aurelion Sol, and Karma as the bridge. On level 9, replace 4-costs with matching 5-costs such as Fiora or Bard.
Emblem and Items
Only pick up Voyager Emblem if it appears naturally, and put it on a filler. Prioritize Aurelion Sol and The Mighty Mech items first, then build one secondary carry or utility. Aurelion Sol wants Jeweled Gauntlet, Rabadon, and shred; The Mighty Mech wants Gargoyle, Sterak, and Titan; Master Yi holds leftover fighter items, while Karma wants anti-heal, shred, and mana/AP.
Item Breakdown
Aurelion Sol prioritizes Jeweled Gauntlet and Rabadon. The third item is usually shred; if you cannot make it, use Void Staff first. He also uses many artifacts well, which makes Ekko divine, Latent Forge, and Apotheotic Forge strong.
The Mighty Mech becomes extremely tanky with the formula trio. If you cannot complete it, substitute Gargoyle, Iceblast Armor, Spirit Visage, or other tank items. With Masterwork Upgrade, upgrade Gargoyle before Aurelion Sol damage items.
Pick the secondary carry by items and shops. Master Yi uses leftover fighter items; Karma wants Morellonomicon and Void Staff, then one mana or AP item.
Comp Breakdown
This is currently one of the easiest 4-cost boards for stabilizing after a loss streak. It is flexible and cheap, and Tahm Kench can help you steal a 3-star 4-cost in uncontested games. Radiant items, strong Yasuo elemental hexes, new artifacts, and Anima items can all give the comp first-place cap.
Positioning
Solo-frontline The Mighty Mech. Put Aurelion Sol on the left so enemy frontline units are less likely to walk onto him. Spread the rest of the back row and flex Master Yi, Urgot, and Tahm around the main tank and carry.
