How to play Jhin
Jhin is a 5-cost Dark Star, Eradicator and Sniper champion that usually plays as a backline damage dealer. Its pattern rewards longer fights, so a stable frontline and clean targeting are more important than instant burst. Jhin appears in Snipin & Vibin and Feed the Stars lines, so keep copies when those boards are open.

When to play Jhin
Consider playing around Jhin when your health and economy let you reach late levels and the board needs a high-cost capstone. For items, Guinsoo's Rageblade and Infinity Edge are strong signals that Jhin can become a real carry. For team direction, it fits naturally when you are already moving toward Snipin & Vibin and Feed the Stars. If it stays one-star, the traits do not activate, or the items point elsewhere, treat it as a transition unit instead of forcing the line.

Why these items work
Guinsoo's Rageblade, Infinity Edge and Red Buff are recommended. Guinsoo's Rageblade ramps attack speed in longer rounds, Infinity Edge increases physical burst through stronger critical strikes and Red Buff adds burn, anti-heal, and attack-speed pressure. The point of the setup is to give it enough uptime to convert its damage pattern into round wins.

Item alternatives
When the perfect setup is not available, use Kraken's Fury, Nashor's Tooth, Deathblade and Last Whisper as substitutes. For damage substitutes, match the damage type and cast tempo instead of forcing random stats. If Jhin is only a trait slot, one useful item is enough and the premium items should go to your real carry or main tank.
timeline
Early, mid, and late game
Early: preserve health and economy instead of waiting for an expensive unit. Mid game: keep items flexible while leveling. Late game: Jhin is a capstone piece, so once upgraded, build the final board around Dark Star, Eradicator and Sniper and support its cast pattern.

Positioning tips
Place Jhin in a back corner or one hex in from the corner against hooks and dives. Scout the enemy carry side and put frontline directly ahead of it. It needs time to start casting, so avoid letting it get deleted immediately.
